6 Only goodness and faithful love will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord as long as I live. Psalm 23:6 CSB
This is a wonderful promise of our living God, in that if we will remain in Him only goodness, faithful love, and mercy will follow us wherever He sends us.
Now contrasts this with being disobedient to Him, consequences will surely follow us. If we will live in sin, meaning we enjoy and commit willing sin then we should not expect something from the Lord.
We should give our entire life to God, giving our life to Him means that we give Him the highest priority in our life. This includes our possessions, money, and time remembering that all these things belong to Him and is proper that we use these things to bring Him glory.
Does blessings always mean material things?
Now, remember that blessings or goodness does not always mean physical blessings. Even the Apostle Paul learned how to be content in times of need or in times of plenty. He says in Philippians 4:11 -13 that:
11 I don’t say this out of need, for I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I am.
12 I know both how to have a little, and I know how to have a lot. In any and all circumstances I have learned the secret [of being content]-whether well-fed or hungry, whether in abundance or in need.13 I am able to do all things through Hima who strengthens me.Philippians 4:11-13 CSB
